Julia Holter “World,” from Loud City Song (out Aug. 20)
Luciano Cilio’s stunning 1970s recordings — collected as Dell’Universo Assente — are finally getting a reissue (2xLP, no less) after its 2004 CD has been long out of print. Gorgeous and pastoral, these piano- and nylon-string guitar-based compositions pre-figure Jim O’Rourke’s kindred music (who also wrote the liners for that first collection) and further the ideas set forth by Pink Moon.
Here’s to hoping Sound Ohm actually sends me the records this time.
